Victoria and Albert Museum (often abbreviated as the V & A), is a museum of design and decorative arts in the world, with a collection of over 4.5 million objects. The museum is located in London and named in honor of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. The Victoria & Albert Museum is one museum a must-see for fans of the historical development of art and decoration in human civilization in the world. A museum since its foundation named South Kensington Museum, in 1980 changed its name to “The Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Museum of Art and Design” by Sir Rou Strong. Was among several other historic sites, namely the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Royal Albert Hall and Albert Memorial, The V & A museum is very fit to be a reference and travel in London.

Built in 1852, this museum currently occupies an area of 12.5 acres (51,000 m2), and consists of 145 galleries. The museum collection includes art objects 5,000 years old, which comes from ancient times until today, from almost every medium, from the cultures of Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Victoria & Albert Museum is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

Collections of ceramics, glass, textiles, costumes, silver, iron, jewelry, furniture, medieval objects, sculpture, graphic art, and photographs are one of the largest, most important and most comprehensive in the world. The museum has a collection of objects of post-classical times that the largest in the world, and the ownership of the collection of Italian Enlightenment is the largest outside Italy. The new gallery is presented to each visitor is a gallery of Islamic & Middle East, which in addition includes the arts and culture of Islam in the Middle East, also includes North Africa region. There is a book “Quran” seized from Turkey is estimated to come from the years 1600-1700. This book is a historical witness the beginning of the rise in interest to double the “Quran” in Turkey.

Every day: at 10:00 to 17:45, especially on Fridays the museum is open until 22:00.

This museum is also easy to reach, either by taxi, bus or tube / underground. The nearest station is South Kensington, while passing bus is number C1, 14, 74 and 414.

The museum is located in the district of Brompton Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, near the Museum of Natural History and Science Museums. The Victoria & Albert Museum is located in what is known as “Albertopolis” London, the area became the center of culture, science and education.
