Skaftafell is one of the national parks in Iceland, was established in 1967. The Skaftafell area of nearly 5,000 square kilometers and is an oasis wedged between sand and glacier. Skaftafell natural beauty that is unique is due to weather conditions and the interaction of fire and ice. Influenced over the years by volcanic eruptions and glacial floods, so it looks a stunning combination of black sand, white glaciers, and lush greenery on the hills.

The distance between Skaftafell and Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital is about 330 km. Inside the Skaftafell national park there are a number of great campgrounds. You can enjoy the Svartifoss waterfall, the distance is not too far from the main camp in Skaftafell. Svartifoss or known as black waterfall is one of the main attractions of this place.
