Whitehaven Beach Beautiful Beach

Whitehaven Beach is the largest and longest beach of 74 islands in the Whitsundays, Australia. This beach is located in Queensland, stretches over 7 km and is very famous for its white sand. From the beaches I visited in Australia, this beach does have sand that is very clear. While holding this sand, it was like putting confectioners’ sugar on hand. The whiteness of the sand at Whitehaven Beach is derived from silica (the largest part of sandstone) are believed to have been brought ashore by ocean currents more than a few million years ago.

Unlike sand in general, the sand on this beach does not absorb heat, so it will be very convenient when we want to walk around barefoot even when the weather is hot. Because of its beauty, Whitehaven Beach was named the most beautiful beaches throughout the South Pacific by TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Awards.

At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach are Hill Inlet, a small bay which forms the curve as beautiful as the river flow with the color combination of white sand and blue sea.

To enjoy this beautiful view of the above, we can see it through Tounge Point Lookout by foot, a bit of a hike about 300 meters from the beach. But only a few operators who received permission to dock in direct proximity to the site. One of the operators who get permits are Ocean Rafting.
