For nature lovers, or those of you who want to occasionally avoid the frenetic of big city and miss the natural atmosphere of peace and quiet, Lake Wanaka is the right choice for a vacation. Lake Wanaka is part of the Queenstown area. Queenstown itself is the fourth largest city in New Zealand. Lake Wanaka is approximately one and a half hours by car from the center of Queenstown.
Although tired, the journey to Lake Wanaka is quite pleasant, no traffic jams and one and a half hour drive, you can enjoy the beauty of nature in Queenstown, you will pass through the mountains and valleys, vast land green with sheep so much will give freshness pleasure for anyone who saw it.
Over in Wanaka, you can spend the night at the Edgewater Resort, this location is amazingly beautiful, with a spacious yard that stretches right to the water’s edge of Lake Wanaka, Edgewater is located between the southern Alps on the South Island of New Zealand.
One activity that is very popular with locals and foreigners alike in Wanaka are biking, for mountain bike lovers, Wanaka is a great place, I tried biking to circumnavigate Lake Wanaka. Clean air and beautiful scenery accompany my activities in the afternoon.
Lake Wanaka is famous for its icon in the form of a tree at the center of the lake, every photographer and tourists who visit Lake Wanaka, certainly have to take a picture or photograph the unique tree.
One more not less interesting, we had the opportunity to have an adventure off road with four wheel drive along 4WD- Ridgeline Adventures. They can take us into private places inaccessible by careless people, making sure that we can enjoy stunning views from the highest point in the mountains of the Wanaka area.
