Planetarium which also is an astronomical museum is located at the top of a hill altitude of 345 meters above sea level. Its location allows visitors to see a view of downtown Los Angeles and its surroundings from a height. Visitors who come mostly also want to admire the beauty of the exterior and interior of the building.
The main building of the Griffith Observatory is actually located in Griffith Park neighborhood, a kind of national park in which there is a special area for hiking and mountain biking. There are also some waterfalls and a lagoon. So if a visit there, visitors can get a bonus in the form of a beautiful view.
At the Griffith Observatory, there are 2 rooms that functioned to play movies. The first is a room named Samuel Oschin Planetarium. Here, at certain hours, playing some documentary that tells about the planets and stars (Centered in the Universe). There is also another film that tells the story of the search for planets outside the Earth that can be used as a residence (Water is Life) as well as the phenomenon of light at the north pole (Light of the Valkyries). Visitors could sit and watch it because in this area has also provided 300 seats for spectators. The room is equipped with sound and light with high technology.

The second room is named Leonard Nimoy Theatre play documenting the history of the building of the Griffith Observatory and other films. There are 190 seats available in this room and the visitors who came first can directly enter and watch.
As a Planetarium, Griffith Observatory also had a telescope to view the moon, planets and stars clearly. The lenses have a 12 inch thick and weighs about 4 tons. The telescope is located in a building that has a dome on top. The location is at the most eastern part of the Griffith Observatory region.

Griffith Observatory Telescope
The telescope was placed on a stand that can rotate slowly automatically. Thus, one can see objects in space comfortably without being disturbed by the earth’s rotation around the sun. To enjoy the object targeted by the telescope, visitors can see it on the screen without the need to approach it.
At the Griffith Observatory also provided a variety of information that could expand our knowledge of astronomy and interesting to enjoy. This information is presented in several areas. In these areas there are several collections of items that give an idea to the visitor about the human journey in studying the solar system and how influential astronomical knowledge for human life.
