For a long time, Spain has been known for the tradition of the fight between man and bull. Each conqueror bull called the Matador. It has become the dream of the bullfighter in the world to be able to perform at Las Ventas. Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is the most famous bullring in Spain. The arena was built in 1922 – 1929 in an area that was then called Las Ventas del Espíritu Santo. The region is now better known as the Salamanca district is located east of downtown Madrid. The bullring which was inaugurated in 1931, was built by adapting the neo-mudéjar style popularized by the Moors in the 12th century.

Las Ventas built with red bricks and decorated by using a patterned ceramics. Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas can accommodate 23 798 spectators in an area of 45 800 m2. The capacity to make Las Ventas becomes the largest bull fighting arena in Spain and the third largest in the world after Mexico bullring and Valencia in Venezuela. Matador versus the bull fight season runs from late March to late October every Sunday. Festival of the most famous battles in the world is the “Feria de San Isidro” held at Las Ventas. The festival takes place around May and June for the full month.

The fight usually starts at 07.00 at night and the length of the game, can reach 2-3 hours. Interested in watching Feria de San Isidro? We recommend that you reserve tickets via online. But for the ordinary fighting season, you can buy tickets at the Las Ventas counter, at 10:00 am – 14:00 pm and 17:00 pm – 20:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. The ticket prices start from € 5.00 to hundreds of euros, depending on the seating position and game schedule. The seating is sheltered from the sun is obviously much more expensive than the regular seating.

The management provides tours for tourists who want to get around the arena. The tour price of € 10.00 already included an audio guide in the selection of Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese.
