White House is the official residence of the United States President over the age of 200 years. The house is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC, capital of the United States. The design and construction of buildings do American architect of Irish descent, Hoban James which won the architectural design competition in 1792.

White House history began when President George Washington signed an Act of Congress in December 1790, which states that the federal government is in the area of the district does not exceed 10 miles from the Potomac River. This building has extra pavilion and porticos like a deck. The décor was designed by Benjamin Latrobe, designer of the American Capitol Building. The building is made of white-painted Aquia stone in the style of late Georgian architecture. White House has 6 floors and 132 rooms. These rooms serve as shelter and employment for residents and guests who visit. The floor area of 55,000 square feet. Because of the breadth, approximately 570 gallons of paint needed to cover the entire exterior surface of the building.

White House has five chefs working fully equipped to serve the guests and inhabitants. You can see the sports facilities such as indoor tennis courts, a running track, swimming pool, bowling alley, billiard room and cinema. When viewed closely, this historic place not only as the president’s official residence, but has become a museum because it also stores a variety of works of art and historical objects to note the long trip of the United States.

To visit this building, you can contact the visitor information office in advance at (202-456-7041). The White House is closed on Sundays and Mondays and is open for tours on the day (Tuesday-Saturday) every morning. We do not need to pay a ticket to get into the building.

To reach this place, you can take the metro and stop at Metrorail Station. From here, walk towards the White House Visitor Center at the southeast corner of E 15th Street, Federal Triangle in the line of blue / orange and metro centers on the line of blue, orange and red.
