Lanikai Beach is a beautiful beach belongs to the island of Oahu, which is often visited by tourists when they traveled in Hawaii. Lanikai is derived from two words, ‘Lani‘ and ‘Kai‘. ‘Lani’ means beautiful like paradise and “Kai” means sea. Lanikai means the heavenly beauty of the ocean. The location can be reached by driving from Waikiki for about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive.

Lanikai Beach has a coastline is not very long (less than 1 km), but along the line visitors can get sand beaches are clean and soft. Lanikai Beach has clear water, turquoise and directly opposite the beach stand two small islands called Mokulua Islands.

Visitors can visit the two islands with kayaking which can be rented around the coast. Kayak can also be used if you wish along the waters of Lanikai Beach and enjoy the view of the mainland from different locations. In addition to kayaking on the surface of the water, visitors can also take a surfboard and pedaling while standing.

Lanikai Beach is also presenting the location where visitors can enjoy snorkeling activities. In its waters (around Mokulua Islands), there are coral reefs that still maintain continuity. Visitors can dive and witness various kinds of fish. At certain times, visitors can even watch green turtles swim up and down on the seabed.

If interested, while at Lanikai Beach, visitors can also make the climb to the top of a hill which at its peak presented a captivating panorama that became one of the attractions of this region. From the top of the hill, visitors can watch the sand beach belonging to Lanikai Beach and 2 other beaches that Kailua Beach and Waimanolo Beach.

In addition, visitors can also see the expanse of the waters and the Mokulua Islands which ‘floats’ above the surface. Green color of sea water makes the view from the heights become increasingly amazing to witness. At the farthest distance, visitors can also see the presence of a lighthouse named Makapuu Lighthouse, Kaneohe bay and also an island called Chinaman’s Hat.

To rise above the hill, visitors must walk on a path of ascent, named Kaiwa Ridge Trail. Long journey it takes to reach farthest point is about 1 hour. After a 30-minute walk, guests will arrive in a bunker that can be used as a location to relax and enjoy the panorama that exist. The journey can be continued into the second bunker location for watching the scene from a different angle or back down to the foot of the hill.

Suggestion :

From Waikiki, visitors can ride the bus number 20 and get off at Aloha Tower. After the dismissal, the journey continues by bus number 57 to arrive in the area of Kailua. From the town provided a shuttle bus number 70 which will take visitors to the nearby beach.
