Milos Island in the Cyclades. The island discovered by Venus de Milo has many places with beautiful views. The enchanting white coral in Sara Kinikos, colorful cliffs, small uninhabited coves, and bluish-green sea water, narrow winding roads and uphill to the top of the mountain, etc. All of that is natural beauty that will make you amazed at Milos Island. If you like to enjoy peaceful nature and fresh air, then this place is suitable for you to visit.
Adamas Bay is a vast natural pier as well as a lagoon which is a favorite place for surfers and water sports lovers. Although it is rather difficult to find accommodation for tourists (there is only a campsite in Archivadolmini) as in all other places on the Greek islands, local residents do not mind renting rooms in their homes. You can get more information from the Tourism Office located on the dock.
There is also a bus available that will take you to the campground. Even though the campground might look crowded, you will still have a place to set up a tent. In addition, if you go to the island of Milos, do not miss also to visit the following places:
- Klima, a small fishing village with beautiful houses in the vicinity. Don’t forget to visit the magnificent Roman theater near Klima. Venus de Milo was found near this theater in the 2nd century.
- Plaka, the main city on the island which is increasingly crowded by tourists.
- Sarakiniko, with white coral and its cliffs.
- Sikia, with underwater caves formed by sea water activities.
- Haghias Constantinos, with stilt houses whose bottom is a place to tie boats.
- Archivadolmini, the largest beach on the island that has a beautiful lagoon; located next to the campground.
Although Greece has many romantic place like Santorini, but the foreign tourists prefer the beach on Milos Island as the best beach. This is not without reason, because the beach on this island has unique characteristics, which are volcanic and shaped like a horseshoe, and equipped with colorful cliffs.
