If you come from Abu Dhabi airport, there are two options that you can choose to get there:

The first option is a taxi.

Long trip from Abu Dhabi airport to Dubai Mall is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on congestion. Cost should you spend is around AED 300-400. To return to the airport, you can get a taxi from Dubai Mall to the direction of the airport. Approximately the same time and cost.

The second option is the bus.

This option is a bit more troublesome and also takes longer, but is less expensive. Because you have to take a bus from Abu Dhabi airport to the bus station in Abu Dhabi with the long journey 20-30 minutes then take a special bus to Dubai direction.
